 If you havent read the fake "Steve Jobs" blog, then you should. Look into his eyes and you will believein shiny white products that are fun, entertaining and restore your child like faith in hope and beauty. And cost way more than anything else - but somehow seem worth it.

 But where oh whee is my Leopard? Where is my iLife '07? I can't bring myself to cash out for an Apple TV just yet and I need my next fix of shiny new toys. October seems SOOOOOOOOO far away.

I bet you thought I would never get around to you. Not so, you have been on my mind since I started the whole Blog Crush thing (actually stole the idea from someone else). So here it is.

I adore reading Queer Penguin. He is smart and funny and cuttingly insightful. And of course we share a left leaning pop culturist bent so the things he says resonate loud and clear with me. Sam is my watchbird on Australian politics since it appears that he reads every newspaper, every journal and listens to every announcement from our leadership. He seems to catch every nuance, slip and faux pas that pops out of the mouths of the powers that be.

Dare I say it, but QP is the Australian Jon Stewart in training.

Keep it up boy, with that mouth of yours, you are going to go a long way. 

Ok, I will admit that one of my reasons for having a blog crush on Bravehound is that he is BLOODY HOT!!

Aside from that, he is that he is a bloody good technology writer and has a serious technology addiction - which I can only commend. Phones, gaming consoles and some pretty good gym remixes (la la la copyright) combine with this handsome blonds charmingly boyish grin.

Is it any wonder he got added to my blog roll? We know how I am about the hunky blonds. 

A number of people† have asked me why I started blogging. There were a number of reasons, and its changed somewhat over time. Now its more of combination "creative" outlet and opportunity to ramble mentally. Lets face it, I like to tell stories and whether someone is reading them or not, this is a way for me to get them out of my head.

I came to the whole blogging thing about a year ago. It had been in a pile of things that I had lumped into the "why-would-you-bother" category, a category which embarrassingly included both podcasting and camera phones - which, for the record, are now two things I am not deeply addicted to. The thing that brought me around to blogging was reading a couple of bloggers who could a/ write b/ had something interesting to say.

Those two bloggers were Juan over at Boozhy and Scott from Bill in Exile. Boozhy is still going strong, but sadly Bill shut up shop in January this year.

Well this morning I have been toe dancing like a poodle after bacon because its seems that Bill is back. "Bill in Exile" is the  collection of letters exchanged between Bill and Scott  while Bill is locked up in prison for selling methamphetamine to upper middle class gay white boys in New York City. Its a weird collection of opinion, shared remembering, news, gossip and some pretty raunchy sex stories.

Bill and Scott were my first Blog Crush, and while others have come and gone, these guys still hold a special place in my heart.

This is actually a long standing blog crush, but I thought I would bring my simmering passion back to the fore.

Juan, aka Boozhy , is by far the most talented of the New York, gay blogging set†. He is also, along with Jon Stewart, one of my main sources of commentary on politics and current events in the US. He is witty, insightful and politically astute, not to mention kind of cute.

To be honest, when I get stuck trying to write something myself, Juan is one of the places I go to get the sort of "tone" I am looking for back in my head - not that I am any where NEAR as good a writer as he is, but it helps to have a great example to follow.

Interestingly, and slightly creepily, enough in a six four two degrees of seperation kind of way it turns out tht its a minor miracle that he and I havent met already. He made mention in a post that he had met a friends mother when walking another friends dog - blah blah blah, and said first friend is one of my nearest and dearest in the US.

Spooky, huh!

I guess there are only so many fags on the planet and I am about running out.

† No Billy, I am not including you n that - you are in a league of your own.

Its probably time to start cleaning out my blog roll and up dating it to the few I actually read. This thought combined with a little blog ramble today made me decide it was time for a new semi regular section section - namely my latest blog crush. These are people who for one reason or another have caught my eye. In truth the idea came from another of my blog crushees - Steph of Much Ado about Sumthin.

The premier edition blog crush is LoudLush, a loud mouthed, hard drinking, arty Australian girl who can write like no-ones business. She has reminded me that some of my best inspiration comes out of my anecdotes and real life experiences. So after a bit of a slump due to some personal circumstances, I have decided to stop just reporting on life around me and actually start writing some more stories. Even if they are not actually completely true, they are very fun.

It might take me a whole to get some written, but in the meantime pop over and catch the Lush, make sure you read her Breakfast at Epiphany's.
