As much as I am going to miss David Tennant, they are managing to get me excited about the new series. A year without much to watch is probably part of that too. I can’t wait to get back to “Who”.

The gestures were appreciated, but most people just sent a card or flowers to my family to commemorate my birth. My parents were touched, particularly by the thing with the Russians – but then I can trace some of my heritage back to Tsarist Nobility, so they probably felt they should do something.

I am not quite sure what the Americans were up to. Perhaps they expected a religion to be founded around me. It hasnt happened so far, apart from that thing in Algiers, and I am not sure that counts.

A year later for my first birthday Colonel Muammar Gaddafi assumed the role of “Prime Minister” four months after leading a successful coup against the Lybian monarchy – which was nice don’t you think.

Festive, and an example of the universe being a zero sum game. I was suddenly in it and, after what was a pretty touch and go first year somewhat miraculously alive. There needed to be a counter balance of fashion free, rhythmless, domineering evil peversity to counter balance my shining beneficence.

It’s my birthday, let me live in a dreamland for today. Ok?

In March this year, Jake Fahri was convicted of the murder of Jimmy Mizen, 16, bled to death when an artery in his neck was severed as he was hit by a glass dish in a bakery n May 2008.

To round things out, now apparently Mercer has attacked Fahri in the exercise yard at HMP Moorland in Doncasterwith a pair of tweezers which had been sharpened and bound with tape to create a makeshift knife.

Do I need to comment any more on this? I think not.

Atheists in Australia are under cyber attack now, because thats the Christian thing to do. The websites of both the Atheist Foundation of Australia and the Global Atheist Convention were knocked offline in a major cyber attack yesterday afternoon.

The possibility of a time travelling particle is currently doing the rounds of Geekendom. The Higgs Boson particle, theorised to exist for only a tiny micro-moment at the start of the universe is used to explain how the universe has as much mass as it does. Personally I put it down to late night snacking and catching taxis, but thats me.

Scientists, who clearly watch too much Stargate SG1, Atlantis and now Universe, are trying to recreate it – but every time they do, the incredibly expensive, complicated and delicate pieces of equipment they are using keep breaking. The Large Hadron Collider at CERN in, well give it so large, France, Switzerland, Italy and Germany, has fallen over (not literally) a couple of times when they have tried this.

The result is. some pretty wild theories are starting to roll around.

“A pair of otherwise distinguished physicists have suggested that the hypothesized Higgs boson, which physicists hope to produce with the collider, might be so abhorrent to nature that its creation would ripple backward through time and stop the collider before it could make one, like a time traveler who goes back in time to kill his grandfather.”

While I cant comment on the physics*, I can say that a/ it sounds pretty far fetched, 2/ I suspect these guys are spending too much time alone or at Star Trek Conventions and iii/ it also sounds really cool – where can I get me one.

*and therefor should probably shut up on the whole thing
