who am i?
So here I am at 37 (come January 2006) and I am still left puzzling at how to sum myself up in a few lines.
I was born and raised in Brisbane which is the capital of, and the irony of this is NOT lost on me, state of Queensland. The Sunshine State, as its called, is an antipodean Florida located to the northeast and 50 years in that past of the rest of Australia. Nice, safe place to grow up, but not too challenging.
I vacated, pretty much as soon as I could.
Since then I have lived in Sydney, New York, Melbourne, Hong Kong, London, San Francisco, Los Angeles and now I am back in Melbourne.
My work based elevator pitch is that I am an IT Proejct Manager specialising in eBusiness and Knowledge Management development. Its not as dull as it sounds - usually.
I have also done a range of other things including teaching aerobics, dancing, singing opera, directing large production events and wrangling drag queens. Most recently I have started pursing a serious career change to become a film producer with a view to specialising in Visual Effects.
I workout pretty consistantly and enjoy a moderated bodybuilding type life style - which means i dont get obsessive, I dont compete and I dont freak out if I am not ripped. Oh and I like to eat.
I have been in love twice in my life, but right now I am single having broken up with love number two in January 2005. I am pretty content on my own, although I do miss #2 dreadfully. I guess until that stops being the case I am happy to be on my own.
I am outgoing and gregarious. Like to laugh and try not to take myself to seriously. I can be butch, serious, camp and silly. Sometimes in the same sentence.
I am happy with who I am, which is a good thing cause its not likly to change substantially at this point. That said I am learning the lessons life gives me, cause I sure as shit dont want to repeat them.
